Denise Mihalik: E-RYT500, YACEP, CSHP, CYVT

Denise was led to yoga after a vehicle accident while on an opera tour. The residual pain from severe whiplash caused her to look beyond what traditional medicine offered. This was the start of her love for yoga. Now, over twenty-five years later, she is a certified YACEP Yoga and YogaVoice™ Instructor. She has additional training in restorative yoga, chair yoga, yoga nidra, pranayama and brain injury yoga. Her yoga classes are a mix of hatha and flow, laughter and focus, and are open to all levels.

In addition, Denise was introduced to kirtan at the Sivananda Ashram in the Catskills. She experienced immediate, deep healing from chanting, and has since been exploring the vibrational healing arts. A journey to Guatemala and a special experience with a one of a kind Singing Bowl deepened her awareness of sound healing within herself and inspired her to become a certified sound healing practitioner and teacher in the Atma Buti Lineage.

She travels regularly to India and has studied in Nepal, Guatemala, Canada as well as in the states. She is the founder of Sound Awakenings and offers classes and workshops all around the world.

Claudine Fenniman - Director and Owner of Yoga with Love

Claudine teaches Hatha yoga with an emphasis on warming up the body to find ease in movement and steers her practice towards adults ages fifty and up. She is a 500-hour Experienced Yoga Teacher and Reiki Master. Claudine has been practicing for over 20 years and began teaching in 2010 after receiving her certification from Blue Moon Yoga.

After becoming a stay-at-home parent of two lovely daughters, Claudine rediscovered yoga through a Kripalu based practice. During that time, she began taking classes in earnest and found yoga to be her oasis. She loved the movement and connection to breath, the complexity of emotions that arose while on the mat and the lessons it brought into her life. Each class brought a deeper connection to Spirit and she knew she was on the right path.

Kripalu Yoga with its emphasis on (breath and reflection) has had a strong influence on her style of teaching. In addition, she has taken various workshops and trainings in Chair yoga, Pranyama, Restorative yoga, Teen yoga, Yoga Nidra, Yoga Tune Up, and is a continuing student of Qi Gong and Energy work.

Yoga led Claudine to the Japanese healing technique, Reiki. Claudine has taken 4 levels of certification in White Light Reiki with Janet Gabel and is a certified Reiki Master. She has been teaching Reiki since 2016.

You can find Claudine at Yoga with Love, teaching group classes weekday mornings, private yoga or Reiki sessions in the afternoons and facilitates monthly Reiki Healing circles, Attunements & Trainings.

Nicole Abbruzzese

Nicole Abbruzzese is a Yoga and meditation teacher with fifteen years of experience.

Her journey began while working in Washington, DC, where she practiced yoga to relieve stress. Motivated by a desire to delve deeper, Nicole traveled to Thailand, where she discovered Vipassana meditation, known as the purest form taught by Guatam the Buddha. She continued her studies of philosophy, history, yoga, and meditation with multiple travels to Thailand, Myanmar, and India.

Nicole completed her 500-hour yoga teacher training under Yogi Vishvketu in India, embarked upon numerous 10-day silent meditation retreats, and spent years studying Hatha, Vinyasa, and Iyengar yoga under the guidance of her teachers in Amsterdam. Her Hatha yoga classes are an amalgamation of various methods and focus primarily on breath, alignment, and meditation. Each class is infused with humor and levity to create a sense of joy. All levels are encouraged, and variations can be given to beginner, intermediate and advanced students.

Denise Tranchina E-RYT, YACEP, RN

Teaching full time for over 15 years, Denise gleans from many styles, many teachers. She incorporates this knowledge to offer creative classes that will challenge without frustration.

Maybe as a former RN in a large NYC hospital, maybe through personal circumstance, Denise has seen the effects that time and experience can have on the body and spirit. With this thought in mind, she is comfortable with prenatal students, is certified in “Radiant Child Yoga”, and enjoys her teen classes. She has also instructed young adults for credit at Brookdale Community College. This included the men’s lacrosse team. Denise has a real connection with students finding yoga later in life, fostering a love for the practice and community. It is always an honor to be your “first teacher”.

Our yoga is a metaphor for our life. Flow through with strength, grace and a smile. Have fun!

Jill Deshong

Jill had an epiphany after turning 40. She lost weight and was looking for a way to tone and maintain her weight loss. Jill was never very physically active. She tried the machines at the gym but they were too boring and she was not coordinated enough for Zumba. She tried Yoga on the Wii Fit video game and she was hooked.

While the physical practice brought her to the mat, she quickly grew to love the whole package mind, body and spirit. Her practice has become a way for her to stay grounded, find peace and connect with herself.

Jill believes anyone can benefit from yoga regardless of age or physicality. She is so excited to share her love for the practice with the students of YOGA WITH LOVE.

May the all time sun shine upon you, all love surround you, and the pure light within you, guide your way on. Namaste
